Celebrating our UEWM PD student’s graduation
June 6, 2026 — The University of East-West Medicine (UEWM) proudly held the graduation ceremony for its first cohort of PD doctoral graduates. Distinguished scholars, political leaders, medical professionals, and graduates from across the United States and around the world gathered to witness this milestone event.
The ceremony commenced in a solemn and celebratory atmosphere. University leaders, faculty members, and graduates entered in procession, and all attendees stood to sing the national anthem of the United States. This was followed by the singing of the UEWM school anthem by faculty members and students, expressing their shared vision for the future development of integrative medicine.
Dr. Yingqiu Wang, President of the University of East-West Medicine, President of the World Society of Integrative Medicine, and Chairman of the CoreGatevers Alliance, delivered a keynote address entitled “Dimensions Determine the Future; Elevating Dimensions Creates Hope.” Dr. Wang emphasized that, as global healthcare demands continue to evolve, traditional single-discipline medical models are giving way to integrative medicine, precision medicine, and whole-person healthcare approaches.
Guided by its mission to cultivate high-level professionals in integrative medicine, UEWM has successfully established the PD doctoral education system through the support of an international team of distinguished mentors and a comprehensive clinical training framework. Dr. Wang stated:
“The successful cultivation of PD doctoral physicians at UEWM marks a new stage in the development of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine education. We aspire to nurture outstanding medical professionals with an international perspective, precise diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities, and an integrative medical mindset.”
He highly commended the graduates for their dedication to study during weekends and personal time, as well as their remarkable achievements in both academic research and clinical practice. He encouraged them to uphold the spirit of lifelong learning and continue contributing to the advancement of human health. Dr. Wang concluded by expressing his sincere gratitude to the graduates’ families, faculty mentors, and all those who have continuously supported the development of the university.
During the ceremony, numerous distinguished guests from California’s political and medical communities delivered congratulatory remarks. Former California Assemblymember and former San José City Councilmember Kansen Chu extended his congratulations to the graduates and reiterated his longstanding commitment to education and community development. Ms. Ying Li, President of the American TCM Association, and former Milpitas Mayor Jose Esteves praised UEWM for its many years of contributions to community healthcare and encouraged graduates to serve society and improve the well-being of the public.
Current Fremont City Councilmember Yang Shao offered his heartfelt congratulations and, drawing upon his background in education and the technology industry, emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary integration and innovative thinking in shaping the future of medicine. Former Union City Mayor Carol Dutra-Vernaci also expressed her best wishes, encouraging graduates to become important contributors to the advancement of community health.
In addition, Dr. Gao Jinglian and other distinguished leaders with significant influence in the fields of medicine and business delivered remarks on the internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine, the development of integrative medicine, and future innovations in life sciences, highly recognizing the accomplishments of the PD doctoral program.
Professor Dahe Liu, Chairman of the UEWM Academic Committee and mentor of the PD doctoral program, delivered an address on behalf of the faculty, encouraging graduates to balance scientific rigor with clinical practice and to pursue excellence throughout their professional careers.
Outstanding graduate representative Dr. Dan Jiang shared her educational journey, noting that the PD doctoral program had not only enhanced her professional expertise but had also broadened her international outlook and strengthened her integrative medical perspective, thereby laying a solid foundation for serving patients and society in the future.
During the ceremony, three organizations were officially established at the University of East-West Medicine:
1. CoreGatevers Academy of Higher-Dimensional Life Sciences
2. World Committee on Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Standards U.S.A.
3. CoreGatevers Center for Higher-Dimensional Health, Happiness, and Longevity
