About the Program

You will have earned a Master of Acupuncture with a Chinese Herbal Medicine Specialization for the master’s program.
The entire Master's degree program takes three years (9 semesters) to complete; however, previous credits transferred from other colleges, If relevant to the traditional Chinese medicine program, may shorten this time.
Yes, please follow the curriculum guidelines for the prerequisite courses.
MAcCHM Curriculum
Attention: courses in Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Terminology, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Psychology. Students are required to complete these basic science courses before they start taking second-year level courses.
We offer a flexible schedule with day, evening and weekend classes; English or Chinese program for both full- and part-time students.

Absolutely! UEWM is conveniently located in Sunnyvale, at the heart of Silicon Valley. The campus is easily accessible via major highways, including 85, 101, 237, and 280.

While UEWM does not offer on-campus housing, there are numerous rental options nearby, including apartments and single-family homes.

Yes! UEWM has partnerships with prestigious institutions such as Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Anhui College of Chinese Medicine, and Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine. These collaborations include study abroad programs and exchange opportunities, allowing students to learn from masters in the birthplace of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

UEWM students have an outstanding track record, including a 100% pass rate on the National Acupuncture and Herbology Exam. In 2001 and 2002, UEWM students achieved the highest overall and first-time pass rates among all participating schools for the California Acupuncture Board Licensing Exam.

Admissions

UEWM has a rolling admissions policy, allowing you to apply at any time. However, we recommend starting your application process 1–3 months before your intended start term. This provides ample time to submit the required documents, including:
- A personal essay describing your interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine
- Official transcripts
- Two letters of recommendation
Submitting transcripts is a requirement by state and accreditation regulations to verify your prior academic qualifications.
Yes, UEWM is authorized to issue Form I-20, which is required for international students to apply for an F-1 student visa.
How to Get Your I-20:
Complete the admissions process.
Provide financial documentation to prove you can cover tuition and living expenses.
Once approved, UEWM will issue your I-20.
Use your I-20 to apply for your F-1 visa at a U.S. embassy or consulate. Our admissions team is here to assist you throughout the process!
