CPR Training
CPR Must be renewed every 2 years.
Please remember you will need in-person Adult And Pediatric First Aid/CPR training to be qualified for your CALE application.
If you don’t plan to take the CALE exam, while you are a UEWM intern, you need to renew your CPR training every two years, it may be an online or in-person CPR training course.

Comp I
- Step 1: You must finish all the prerequisites before registering for the exam. Com I is required to progress to CL5.
- Step 2: Register here: https://uewm.edu/registration/comp-I and pay the exam fee in Finance. You must sign up and pay 1 week before the exam.
- Step 3: Please contact macchm@uewm.edu to schedule your exam.
- Step 4: The exam will be proctored in the Room 101 on Moodle on computers provided by the University. If you are late, you will not be able to take the exam. If you fail, you will have to wait until the next exam to try again. No exceptions.
Comp II Exam (Graduation Exam)
- Exam Date: December 15th, 2025 (Mon) 1-6pm
- Requirements: Complete all didactic courses and clinics before the exam.
- Exam Fee: $150 (Pay in Finance). Clear all remaining balances before the exam.
- Deadline: Sign up at least 3 weeks before the exam date.
- Proctoring: Room 101 on Moodle, using computers provided by the University.
- Important Note: Latecomers will not be allowed. In case of failure, a retake may be possible during the break (schedule to be announced). Re-registration, a $120 exam retake fee, and rescheduling will be required.
Clean Needle Technique (CNT)
UEWM’s Clean Needle Technique (CNT) training from CL1 is approved by the California Acupuncture Board (CAB). Graduates of UEWM who have completed CNT as part of CL1 do not need to submit additional CNT certification for the California Acupuncture Licensing Exam (CALE). However, for NCCAOM certification, a separate CNT certification from the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (CCAHM) is required.

(All CNT certification for the NCCAOM exams must come directly from CCAHM. For the CAB, as long as your transcript includes CL1, you will have met the CNT requirement for the CALE.)
CALE (California Acupuncture Licensing Exam) Application
We advise you to apply for the CALE one week before you finish the program. Only after finishing the program and submit the UEWM Supporting Documents Form will your transcript be sent to CAB. No need to apply early. Once your application is accepted, you can schedule an exam through PSI.
