Clinical Education
Tutorial Program (师带徒)
The UEWM Tutorial Program follows the long-standing tradition of 师带徒 (Master-Apprentice), combining personalized instruction with practical clinical experience. This educational model allows qualified students to learn directly from experienced practitioners while developing advanced diagnostic reasoning, treatment planning, and patient-care skills.
Unlike a traditional classroom environment, tutorial education emphasizes individualized mentorship, hands-on clinical observation, and the practical application of Traditional Chinese Medicine principles in real patient settings.
Program Highlights
- One-on-one faculty mentorship
- Advanced clinical observation and discussion
- Hands-on learning with experienced practitioners
- Integration of classical TCM knowledge with modern clinical practice
- Flexible learning opportunities for qualified students
- Patient-centered education focused on clinical reasoning
Benefits
Tutorial education provides an alternative pathway for students who prefer individualized learning. It is particularly valuable for working professionals, students seeking greater scheduling flexibility, and practitioners wishing to deepen their clinical knowledge through direct mentorship.
The program supports UEWM’s mission of preparing highly qualified practitioners who combine traditional knowledge with modern healthcare practices while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
Important Note
The Tutorial Program follows applicable California educational regulations and is available only to students who meet UEWM admission and program eligibility requirements.
