UEWM Clinical Training

Since 1998, the Master of Acupuncture with a Chinese Herbal Medicine Specialization (MAcCHM) has been one of UEWM’s flagship academic programs. Our graduates practice throughout California, across the United States, and internationally, serving patients with skill, compassion, and professionalism.

Our curriculum combines the foundations of Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern healthcare education, preparing students through comprehensive classroom instruction, laboratory learning, and supervised clinical experience. Accreditation & Licensure

The MAcCHM program is accredited and approved by the appropriate accrediting and regulatory agencies, including ACAHM, NCCAOM, the California Acupuncture Board, and BPPE. Graduates are eligible to sit for the California Acupuncture Licensing Examination and the National Certification Examination, subject to the requirements of the respective licensing and certification organizations.

Admission Requirements

Applicants to the Master of Acupuncture with a Chinese Herbal Medicine Specialization program must meet the following minimum admission requirements.

College-Level Education

Applicants must have completed at least two years of college-level education, consisting of a minimum of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units.

Recognized Institution

Coursework must have been completed at an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or at an approved foreign institution.

Minimum GPA

Applicants must have a minimum overall grade point average of 2.0.

Medical Background

A medical or healthcare background is not required for admission. However, previous education or experience in healthcare, biological sciences, or related fields may be helpful.

International Education

Applicants who completed coursework outside the United States may be required to provide an official course-by-course credential evaluation and supporting documentation. Contact UEWM Admissions for the current requirements before submitting an application.
