The Professional Doctorate (PD) Program at the University of East-West Medicine is designed for graduates who have completed a Master of Acupuncture with Chinese Herbal Medicine (MAcCHM) and are ready to continue toward the Doctor of Acupuncture with Chinese Herbal Medicine (DAcCHM) degree.

This advanced 1–2 year doctoral pathway expands your clinical expertise through advanced patient care, classical Traditional Chinese Medicine, evidence-informed practice, and integrative healthcare. Students strengthen their diagnostic skills, refine clinical decision-making, and prepare for leadership in modern acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Admission Requirements

  • Completion of a MAcCHM degree or an equivalent qualifying master’s-level degree
  • Completion of at least 90 semester units of undergraduate-level education at an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education, or at an approved foreign institution
  • Minimum overall grade point average of 2.0
  • Active or recent clinical experience is preferred
  • Submission of official transcripts and a completed application form
  • English-language proficiency documentation may be required for applicants whose primary language is not English
