
The National Great Master of TCM Wei Guikang
Postdoctoral Work station and Heritage Studio program
College of Integrative Health Medicine (IHM) of University of East-West Medicine would like to operate two program of The Great Master of TCM Wei Guikang Postdoctoral Work station and Heritage Studio program from September 1rd 2020.
The National Great Master of TCM Wei Guikang Heritage Postdoctoral Workstation and Heritage Studio program allows 18 months (maximum to three years) of protected time to complete innovative research of Integrative Health Medicine. The training program touches all of the major Integrative Medicine and Chinese Medicine, with fellows past and present conducting research studies at different institutions based on their areas of interest.Researcher will be taught to assess, evaluate patient use of alternative integrate Medicine into one’s own professional practice. The program provides core competencies in research of integrative health and Medicine. This program provides the theoretical basis for applying integrative health and Medicine practices and emphasizes the integration of evidence-based Integrative Health Medicine (IHM) therapies such as mind/body medicine, functional nutrition within the framework of conventional health care practice.

Areas of special interest within IHM include
1) Clinical research: carrying out multi-center and large sample clinical evaluation, studying the treatment of Radicular Cervical spondylosis and low back pain with traditional Chinese medicine ,Co-instructor:Master Guikang Wei and Dr. Jian Wei; Supporting team:Relying on the Department of orthopaedics of Ruikang Hospital Affiliated to Guangxi University of traditional Chinese medicine and the Department of orthopaedics of Shenzhen Hospital of traditional Chinese medicine

All efforts in the program are designed to promote innovation, engage in research collaboration. There will be 3 hours training or discussion with instructor and co-instructor from UEWM every month independently.

· Have a doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D. or other relevant biomedical professional degree,DAOM,DTCM)
· Individuals currently in Ph.D. or other doctoral degree-granting programs may apply as long as they anticipate completing the degree requirements before starting the Program.
· Fellows will conduct and complete one original IHM research projects and publish one core article.
2. enrollment and completion requirements of Heritage Studio;
All applicants must have fulfilled the minimum education requirements of 90 semester credits of general education from a regionally accredited degree-granting college or university major in health care related major.

- Admission Interview
Once your application package and all supporting documents have been received, you will be invited to have a personal interview with admissions committee. The admissions interview is a mutually beneficial process, allowing you the ability to acquire additional information not gained in previous interactions with , while the admissions committee has the opportunity to get to know you on a more personal level.

We selects researcher who have an experience in research of TCM and integrative medicine, who have an experience in serving others as health care professionals, and who have demonstrated the aptitude to successfully complete the research and publish at least core article before finish the program.

7. expected outcomes;
1)Fellows will obtain an advanced understanding of the basic disciplines of scientific research and be able to apply these to the field of IM.
2)Knowledge of IM: Fellows will develop a working knowledge of the various disciplines within IM.
3) Research Projects: Fellows will conduct and complete one original IHM research projects and publish one core article.
Instructor Resume of Professor Guikang Wei
Wei Guikang, born in October 1938, graduated from Ping-Le Bone-Setting College of Henan Province in 1964 and since then has worked in Guangxi TCM College (now Guangxi TCM University renamed in 2012). He served once as the President of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi TCM College and later as the President of Guangxi TCM College as well as the CEO of the Orthopedics and Traumatology Research Institute. During his career, he received further-trainings to deepen his knowledge in Tianjin, Beijing and Shanghai for as long as two years. Now, he is entitled to work as the life-time professor, chief medical doctor and tutor of doctoral students. At present, his social positions include: the chairman of the World Union of Manual Medicine, the senior director of the Orthopedics and Traumatology Research Society of the National Higher-Learning Institutes and Universities, the deputy director of the Professional Commission of the World-China Orthopedics and Traumatology Alliance, a member of the Final Reviewing Committee of the State Administration of Chinese Medicine and Drugs for the scientific and technological progress awards, and an expert in reviewing the scientific research projects of the State Natural Science Foundation.
Co-instructor Professor Yingqiu Wang
Yingqiu Wang founded the University of East West Medicine at Sunnyvale in 1997 and he has served as the president until 2018. In 2000, the University’s Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine (MSTCM) was approved by the California Acupuncture Board. In 2003, the University of East-West Medicine was approved by the Department of Homeland Security to oversee and approve foreign students attending the UEWM’s MSTCM program by issuing the I-20 Visa. He works 7 days a week for the Medical Center and business development as the Vice President of UEWM.
Based upon 40 years of clinical practice and research, Dr. Wang founded the “Core Gate Universe Medical System”. He published “Discover the Theory of Relativity in the 21st century”, “Human Nuclear Circular Sky Medicine”, “Core Gate Theory”. Core Gate Universe Medicine got appraisal and recommendation by the committee of the International Integrative Medicine Conference on Dec 7th, 8th, 2019, which was held at UEWM and Stanford.
Co-instructor Professor Haisheng Zhang
Dr Haisheng Zhang is currently a postdoctoral fellow at San Francisco State University now and was appointed as The Dean of Integrative Health and Medicine College of University East-West Medicine(UEWM). And he have been at MCRI (Molecular Cardiology Research Institute) of Tufts Medical Center,Harvard Mclean Hospital researching Mindfulness Meditation,Qigong and Buddha Health & Medicine for nearly two years. He had my first postdoctoral training in clinical psychology of Chinese Medicine in China Academy (2013-2016) for three years. I received my MD degree from Tianjin University of Chinese Medicine in 2012 and I learned Traditional Chinese Medicine and Medical Qigong from Dr. YangJun, the sixth-generation lineage holder in TCM for 25 years. He has been teaching Meditation and Medical Qigong, for 25 years, and Advanced Mathematics, Linear Algebra for five years and have been doing consulting work regional economic for five years. He has expertise and excellent understanding of meta-lab software (data analysis), Osirix Lite (MRI software), meta-analysis review and systematic review, and possess excellent solving skills.
Co-instructor Professor Jian Wei
Wei Jian, male. Practicing physician, Ph. D, visiting professor of Ruikang Hospital Affiliated to Guangxi University of traditional Chinese medicine, Sanming Project expert of Shenzhen Hospital of traditional Chinese medicine, vice chairman of World Federation of manual medicine. He has a master’s degree in orthopedics from Guangxi University of traditional Chinese medicine and a doctor’s degree in biology from the University of Giessen, Germany. He once worked in the orthopedics department of Ruikang Hospita, participated in the compilation and publication of 6 books, published more than 20 academic articles at home and abroad, mainly participated in 3 provincial and ministerial level science and technology achievement awards, mainly participated in more than 10 National Natural Science Foundation and provincial and ministerial level scientific research projects, and assisted Wei Guikang , a National Chinese Medicine Masters, has established more than ten inheritance studios in Guangxi, Guangdong, Shandong and other places. He has been to Germany, Austria, Australia, the United States, Singapore, Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, etc. for academic exchanges or lectures.
