2. Health & Safety
A health-insurance plan is mandatory for all international students. An international student may use the health insurance plan contracted by the UEWM and pay the insurance fee at registration or provide evidence of outside insurance in order to be waived of the UEWM contracted plan. UEWM currently use International Medical Group for medical insurance coverage for students who do have their own plan. Students purchase coverage by the semester. All students can purchase student health insurance offered through a 3 rd party. Students must purchase malpractice insurance once clinic practice begins. The fee for insurance is billed at registration and covers the period of the semester only. Coverage must be purchased each semester.
As a UEWM student, you also have access to acupuncture visits, at the cost of $15 per visit, exclusively provided by the East-West Medical Clinic. These visits are not an insured benefit offered by the insurance plan provided by the school; therefore, you must show your UEWM student ID card at the time of your appointment.
UEWM is a drug, alcohol, and weapon-free campus.
